Leisure

Holidays that are considered, not assembled

The Practice

The holiday, arranged in full

A private holiday is simple to book and difficult to get right. The flight is the easy part. The hotel that suits the two of you, the suite that faces the water rather than the plant room, the driver already holding your name at arrivals — these are the parts an app cannot see.

We arrange leisure travel for a small number of clients. Honeymoons, a milestone birthday, the fortnight that has been three years in the promising. We know which hotels are better than their photographs and which are quietly worse, and we place you accordingly.

In Practice

01

The hotel, and the room within it

A city holds forty good hotels and perhaps three that suit the two of you. We know which suites face the water and which face the plant room, which corner is worth the difference and which is a larger disappointment. We book the room we would take ourselves, and we tell you why.

02

The car already waiting

You land somewhere nineteen hours ahead of home, tired, in a language you do not read. There is a driver at arrivals holding your name, a route already chosen, a hotel that knows the flight was late and has kept the kitchen open. Nothing to arrange, nothing to queue for. It is handled before you leave your own front door.

03

The details an app cannot hold

The corner table for the anniversary. The connecting rooms for the children, and the wall between them. The champagne noted for the evening you arrive, the allergy passed to every kitchen in advance. Small things, a great many of them, each one arranged so that you never once think of it.

04

Known on arrival

We have worked with these hotels for years, and they answer us within the hour. That relationship becomes yours: the upgrade that is offered rather than requested, the late checkout granted without a conversation, the general manager who comes to the table. You arrive as someone expected, not as a booking reference.

How We Work

We are paid by you, and by no one else.

No hotel pays us a commission to send you through its doors. We recommend the room we would book for ourselves, and when a place has slipped, we say so.

We answer within twelve hours, wherever you are and whatever the hour is there. One telephone number. Two Founders, and the same two people from the first enquiry to the drive home.

Questions

When should we come to you?

Earlier than feels necessary. The best suites, and the honeymoon that needs a plus-or-minus three day window, are gone months ahead. A year before a milestone trip is not too soon. A fortnight before, we will still do what can be done.

Do you arrange only the hotel, or the flights as well?

Both, and everything between them. Premium-cabin flights, the transfers at each end, the hotel and the room within it, the reservations that make an evening. You speak to us once, and the whole of it is arranged.

Will you plan the honeymoon around a date we cannot move?

Yes. A wedding fixes the week, and we build outward from it — the flights that connect without a wasted day, the hotel that suits a first married fortnight, the quiet note in every file that this is a honeymoon.

How much of the itinerary do we control?

As much or as little as you wish. Some clients want every hour considered. Others want two hotels chosen well and the days left open. We ask enough questions to know which of the two you are, then arrange accordingly.
